This past weekend, the girls and I packed up our camping gear and headed out to Brialee Campground in Ashford, CT, and wow, what an amazing experience it turned out to be!
From the moment we arrived, we were welcomed by the friendliest staff. The whole place was clean, well-kept, and so inviting, it instantly felt like we picked the perfect spot for our weekend escape. Plus, the weather was perfect.
One of the things I loved most about Brialee was how much there was to do. The campground kept us busy all day long with activities for both kids and adults. Not to mention having both a pool and lake to cool off in was a bonus. Since the theme for this weekend was “Circus in the Woods,” everything came with a little extra magic.
🎪 Carnival Fun – The girls had a blast at the camp-style carnival! For just 50 cents to a dollar, kids could play all kinds of fun games, win prizes, and just soak up the carnival atmosphere. There was even a magician who put on a show that had all the kids (and adults) wide-eyed and smiling.
🎨 Arts & Crafts – My girls especially loved the art studio, where they got to create their own crafts and bring home little souvenirs from the weekend. It was the perfect balance of fun and creativity.
🌲 Camping Vibes – Of course, in between all the activities, we still enjoyed the classic camping moments. Relaxing by our site, exploring the grounds, having a fire, looking for constellations and spending that much-needed quality time together in nature without any tv.
By the end of the trip, the girls were already asking when we could come back, and honestly, I was right there with them. Brialee Campground delivered such a fun, family-friendly weekend that we’ll definitely be returning.
